Although the women of the Nature Isle fought gallantly, they were still no match for the Defending Champs. Chase led 30pts -13pts at the half, and 56pts – 30pts at the end of the 3rd quarter.
2009 MVP, Onyesonam Nolisa continued her dominance of her opponents with a game high 36pts,15 defensive rebounds, 6 offensive rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and 9 block shots. Savannah Holness contributed 19pts, 8 defensive rebounds, 10 assists, 3 steals, and 2 block shots.
For Dominica, Delize Paul led with 19 pts, and 4 offensive rebounds, while Julio Bruno, Sawana Fabien and Curna John had 5 pts each.
In the second game of the night, St. Vincent & the Grenadines defeated Lady Vipers of Antigua.(Scores not available at reporting time, but will be sent subsequently).
The teams taking part in the 11th Annual Gillian Brazier Basketball Shoot-Out are Defending Champions, Chase Collegiate of Connecticut, USA, Dominica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines and the lone Antigua team, Lady Vipers.
Action in the 11th Annual Gillian Brazier Basketball Shoot-Out continues on Friday night, November 26.
In the first encounter, Dominica comes up against Lady Vipers of Antigua at 6:30 P.M. and St. Vincent & the Grenadines will match up with St. Lucia at 7:45 P.M.
