SUGAR RIDGE IS ONE OF THE TOP 25 TRENDIEST HOTELS IN THE CARIBBEAN Friday 3rd February 2012
It’s official: Sugar Ridge is one of the Top 25 Trendiest hotels in the Caribbean. This may come as no surprise to some of you, but when the congratulatory email first showed up in our inbox, we actually did a double take. It’s not that being named one of the Caribbean’s most stylish hotels took us by surprise (we pride ourselves on this), we just didn’t realize that TripAdvisor’s highly regarded Travelers’ Choice Awards valued an aesthetic hotel experience as much as we do!
For those of you who aren’t familiar, TripAdvisor.com is a “travel website that assists customers in gathering travel information, posting reviews and opinions of travel-related content and engaging in interactive travel forums.” Each year, they combine the popularity index of hotels in various markets, keywords used to describe the overall hotel experience, and a number of other online resources to identify the top performers in any given category.
This year, Sugar Ridge was recognized for being one of the trendiest hotels in the Caribbean. We believe this is due in part to our goal of achieving “Caribbean chic” by embracing the islands’ unique, charming qualities – not eschewing them in the name of modernization.
Our design team employed this concept masterfully, combining contemporary style with Antigua’s British Colonial past. The result is bright accents, sleek furniture and luxurious amenities alongside rich dark woods, neutral tones, tropical artwork, and muslin-draped 4-poster beds that are further complemented by stunning sea views and the innate appeal of an exotic island.
While it is always an honor to be recognized for doing something well (or in this case, being some place sexy!), this award is particularly important and appreciated as it is consumer-driven. In fact, this award is guest-driven which makes it even more amazing.
