QATAR TO INVEST IN ANTIGUA TOURISM
Wednesday 29th May 2013

From CMC

Antigua and Barbuda says it is positioned to benefit from the establishment of a major tourism development project with Qatar.

In a statement on Saturday May 25th, it was revealed that Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer recently held official talks with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, regarding cooperation for the new Azure Bay Property Development Project.

According to Spencer, the Azure Bay Property Development project, when implemented, will represent the “largest high-end hospitality development opportunity in Antigua and Barbuda.”
The proposed property will include a five star hotel, condominiums, 18-hole championship golf course, a wellness clinic and spa, a deep water marina, heliport, casino and luxury retail centre, the statement said.

Spencer also said his government has agreed in principal to signing an Economic, Commercial and Technical Cooperation agreement Qatar to enhance the relationship between the two countries.
