“This is the closest an amateur golfer is going to get to feeling and being treated like one of the pros. We played at one of the most coveted and oldest golf courses in the world, Carnoustie, in Scotland and everyone made us feel very welcome,”  states Wayne Mitchell, one half of the Antigua and Barbuda 2009 INET International Pairs championship team.
His endorsement came during the press launch and he thanked the event’s organiser, Zorol Barthley, CEO of Golf Experience Caribbean and its sponsors for giving Antiguan and Barbudan golfers such a fantastic opportunity.

Mitchell adds that, “It’s also an opportunity to talk about our country – it was a great honour to carry the Antigua and Barbuda flag during the opening ceremony and we were able to talk about our country at every opportunity. Zorol also secured samples of Susie’s Hot Pepper Sauce and English Harbour Rum; they were well received by our hosts and the other golfers.”
This year’s INET International Pairs Golf Tournament 2010 will be bigger and better: “We are delighted that INET have come forward once again to be the title sponsor. Last year’s inaugural event was a tremendous success and we have to thank all our sponsors, the players, the Cedar Valley Golf Course and our media partners, especially ABS who showed three hours of live local golf. Thanks to the success of last year’s tournament we have more sponsors, more prizes and we are hoping for even more spectators.”

The tournament is endorsed by the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, the Ministry of Tourism, Antigua Pier Group and the Ministry of Sports and Local Government.
