FOUR WAY TIE AFTER DAY ONE OF THE INET INTERNATIONAL PAIRS CARIBBEAN GOLF OPEN
Saturday 8th September 2012
Four teams lead at the end of a hard fought day one of the INET International Pairs Caribbean Tournament at the Cedar Valley Golf Course.

Sir Vivian Richards and Errol Samuel; Zorol Barthley and Tedson Weatherill; Gregory Georges and Vere Small as well as  Dion Massiah and Stan Frederick all share the lead on 42 points. However, the next eight pairs are within four points of the leaders.

Defending champions Avery Jonas and Dougie O'Brien endured a frustrating day, scoring only 29 points to finish third from the bottom.

Day two promises to be a very exciting day as the teams with the lower scores tee off from 8:00 am.

As Caribbean golfers also aim to qualify for the International Pairs World Finals in Scotland, Adrian Norford of St. Kitts and Max Raffoul of Dominica lead with 41 points.

This is the first year that players from across the region are competing and by all accounts it will not be the last, according to Michael Jhagroo of Trinidadian an Tobago:   "this is my first invitational competition in Antigua and Barbuda, and the terrain is fantastic, a nice course with some challenges".
