Antigua & Barbuda, St. John’s – Wishing Well Inc. recently donated to the Antigua and Barbuda Centre for Dyslexia Awareness (ABCDA). The funds will be utilized to provide screening assessment for a group of children who have been wait-listed for screening and also to provide scholarship assistance to another group of children to receive services under the tutoring programme.

“The Antigua and Barbuda Centre for Dyslexia Awareness (ABCDA) would like to thank Wishing Well Inc. Donations such as these help ensure that children with learning difficulties in our community have access to the specialized educational support that they need. They make an enormous contribution to the lives of children by giving them an opportunity to achieve, excel and learn.

A number of our families are simply unable to afford the cost of literacy services and many schools are without adequate support. Without generous donations such as these, many children would simply go without and fall through the cracks. With early identification and intervention our children can learn successful strategies to cope with dyslexia and achieve their full potential” said Dr. Cynthia Crump Educator for Life / Lead, EMARGE Educational Consultants.

Mr. Alex Browne (Resort Manager) of the Jolly Beach Resort & Spa represented Wishing Well Inc. and presented the cheque. “We are always happy whenever we can contribute to educational causes and we are very pleased to partner with the ABCDA to invest of the future of these children. I have personally driven past the facility on many occasions and have today been educated on the support, guidance and training that the students receive at the ABCDA. We hope that other (corporate) sponsors will come forward to assist with the crucial services that are provided at the Centre”.
