The all-inclusive Jolly Beach Resort, Antigua’s largest, announces Vernon A. Jeffers as the newest addition to the staff as General Manager as of February 6, 2012.

 

With over ten years experience as manager of luxury Caribbean resorts, Jeffers is no stranger to Jolly Beach Resort & Spa having served as Assistant General Manager overseeing the operation of the Food and Beverage, and Maintenance Departments.  Most recently he was the General Manager/VP of both the St. James Club & Villas and The Verandah Resort & Spa in Antigua.

 

“We are navigating both a demanding and exciting time in the Caribbean tourism marketplace. Mr. Jeffers brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with him to meet the opportunities for Jolly Beach Resort & Spa head-on,” says Chairman Astron F. Jarvis. “He will certainly energize our staff as he initiates new programs and oversees the operations of this 464-room beach resort.”

 

Mr. Jeffers also plays an active role in the community.  He once served as a board member at the Antigua Hotels & Tourist Association (AH&TA) as well as the BVI Chamber of Commerce & Hotel Association and spends his spare time volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. In 1998 he was named Young Hotelier of the Year by the AH&TA during his tenure as F&B Manager at the Royal Antiguan Beach Resort. 

He holds a Grand Certificate from the Hotelschool The Hague in Hospitality and F&B Administration where his studies included yield management, F&B profit engineering, and hospitality management; and a Bachelor of Science from the City University of New York in Public Administration.   He enjoys reading, traveling and keeping abreast with political issues globally.
