10/10/2013 is World Sight Day. The Theme this year is Universal Eye Health! The Call To Action is GET YOUR EYES TESTED!
About 285 million people are visually impaired worldwide: 39 million are blind and 246 million have low vision (severe or moderate visual impairment). Preventable causes are as high as 80% of the total global visual impairment burden. About 90% of the world's visually impaired people live in developing countries. 2/3 of the world's visually impaired are women.
4 out of 5 blind people are needlessly so ...Let's join hands across the globe this WORLD SIGHT DAY to change this horrifying statistic.
