NEW AYC WEEKLY KEELBOAT RACING ON THURSDAYS Wednesday 11th January 2012
Starting on Thursday 12th January, there will be a new weekly racing series for keelboats at Antigua Yacht Club. There will be three short races, with the first start at 4:10 p.m. The race officer will be Tommy Paterson who is responsible for the sailing instructions. His contact details are as follows:
Email: tomcatant@hotmail.com or call him on 1 268 779 6449.
Please contact Tommy or the AYC office to advise your intention to race.
As this is experimental, there will be no entry fee or free dockage for the Thursday races.
Sailing Instructions are outlined as follows:
We will be sailing in the northern side of falmouth out of trafic and laser sailing.
We will be using the red and green channel markers for entry to cat club and our
own leeward mark.
Red is windward red WR, green is wing green WG, leeward is a red mark L.
Start line in between.
Boats must pass thru start line when going to windward and stay out of start line
when sailing downwind. This is to keep the fleet from sailing into the moored yachts.
Jib and main only. No poles or downwind sails. Let's keep it as even as possible.
Penalty turn is one 360 degree turn.
4 minute starts. 4 min horn, yellow flag. 1 min horn, blue flag. Start horn, red flag.
