TALENTED PIANIST DEBORA MORI WILL ACCOMPANY STARS IN APRIL
Friday 6th April 2018

Debora was born in Milano in 1973, the daughter of the famous Baritone, Orazio Mori and graduated in pianoforte from the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in 1995. She then pursued advanced courses in piano composition under Piero Rattalino and in performance techniques for the Organ and Harpsichord, in piano teaching and reading scores, and in orchestral direction at the Bologna Music Academy.

Considered as an outstanding expert in "piccola lirica", shortened musical scores, Debora began her career in 1996 performing in numerous festivals and concerts in Italy and overseas. She performed alongside many leading opera singers such as Dimitrova, Bartolini, Casolla, Encinas, Ricciarelli, Maestri and Nucci.Debora also performed with the Tactus Quartet, playing challenging works by Faure, Brahms, Schubert, Beethoven, Mozart and Mahler. She also taught advanced courses for young, promising singers in Japan as music instructor and orchestral director.

From 2002, Debora collaborated with the Academia Rotary International, led by Daniele Rubboli and three years later she became the choir director for the Rosetum Theatre in Milano.

Debora has recently developed her interest as an orchestral director with full musical responsibilities for operetta productions. Her superb qualifications, depth of knowledge and technical ability, make Debora Mori an exceptional talent in the world of music.

The Sailing Academy is an open air venue and has a large capacity. For those, particularly with family, wanting a more local and exciting party atmosphere on more casual lines this would be great for them. The AOS do not think that this performance is suitable for young children, but at the same time want to encourage teenagers and young adults, especially with a musical interest, to come and experience something new. To this end, The Society would like to offer a special price of US$15 / EC$40 at the gate for all between the ages of 10 and 18.

The Antigua Opera Society is a newly registered charity offering Opera Performances on island and all profits will go to support musical and vocal education of children in Antigua and next year’s intended production. Plans for 2019 include, for the first time ever, a full Opera in March/April and discussions for this are already in motion. Their Excellencies Sir Rodney and Lady Williams are the Society’s Ambassadors and are firmly and actively supporting the activities of the Antigua Opera Society.
