Entry for school children 16 and under will be just EC$30, groups of five or more will pay EC$50 each, and general entry will be EC$100.
Over 300 ferry spaces are available and spots are being heavily subsidized in order to make Barbuda accessible and encourage participants to spend while in Barbuda as a way of supporting the economic revitalisation of the island.
The Rohrman Sports Association is also partnering with the Barbuda Council and the Ministry of Sports.
Barbuda Council Chair of Tourism Culture Sport and Youth Affairs Committee Asha Frank said “The Tourism, Culture Sport and Youth Affairs Committee endorses the Jumby Bay Rohrman event on Barbuda. We encourage events such as these for many reasons. It supports our businesses as we restore our economy after Hurricane Irma and it encourages fitness in our community. We endeavour to support the event in the best way we can and look forward to March 2019”.
The Jumby Bay Fund Rohrman Barbuda aims to forge greater unity between Barbudans and Antiguans through sport, demonstrate the existing potential for sports tourism in Barbuda, provide a quality sporting event for the benefit of Barbudans, create a short-term stimulus to the Barbudan economy post-Irma, and provide added momentum to the rebuilding efforts post-Irma.
The AUA Rohrman Triathlon Antigua Day 1, which takes place a day earlier, features 10 triathlons including a feature Olympic distance triathlon over a 1,500m swim, 40km bike, and 10km run.
