In a rush as usual we decided to head down to the first show last night from husband and wife team Franck and Delphine. Between Island and Wing, took place at 8pm against the backdrop of a star filled sky and marina full of superyachts. I am not sure I, or the other 150 people around me, breathed for the 20 minutes of the show. It certainly doesn't seem possible that real people could possible have the strength it takes to scurry up a fluttering white tube of white fabric, and then contiue to perform such a beautiful mix of acrobatics, circus and dance (Think Cirque Du Soleil and you are getting there). I felt completely humbled to experience it, and really excited to see something so unusual right here, on the dock, in Antigua.
The show is free, although contributions are welcome - and can be viewed right on the dock.at the Antigua Yacht Club Marina.

Since 2005, husband and wife team Franck and Delphine Rabilier have been fulfilling a life long passion and touring the world. on board their sailing yacht. With them are their two children and as they move from port to port they have played to awed audiences as they create dramatic, humourous and thrilling shows which incorporate their love of the circus and acrobatics.
They have performed in France, Morocco, The French Caribbean and latterly Canada where they created two silent productions initially for the Society of the Vieux Port in Montréal (where the couple performed over 150 shows) inspired by circus, dance and theatre. They are using mast, boom, rigging and other parts of their sailboat as the stage from which they exhibit their acrobatic prowess. 'The Navigators' is inspired by Buster Keaton and the silents films of the 1920's, and is a parody of navigational manoeuvers that poke fun at the mishaps of maladroit navigators. "Between Island and Wing" deals with male-female relationships in a spectacle of aerial choregraphy and acrobatics in a duet that ranges from love, humor and poetry to earth, sea and sky.
They wil be performing at the Antigua Yacht Club Marina (near the dinghy bridge) this coming week:
Between Island and Wing on Friday 5th February at 7.30 pm. The Navigators will be performed at 6 pm on Friday 5th February.
Performances are about 20 minutes and are free, however the family welcome donations which will continue to fund their travels and performances around the world.
