CHRISTMAS CAROLS, CHARITY FETE AND OTHER GOOD CAUSES
Wednesday 4th December 2013

You could start Christmas shopping, party booking and more this weekend, but if you're feeling like it's a little early for that, there are plenty of activities happening in and around the island to get you in a more festive mood. Here's a look at where to head.

This THURSDAY! Catch Asher Otto & Itchyfeet Live music at Big Banana for pizza, cocktail and beer specials from 8:00pm in a true ole Therapy Thursday session!

Head down to English Harbour for DJ Quixx Friday session  followed by DJ Sporty plus DJ No Sleep on Saturday at Abracadabra Restaurant & Disco-Bar . Entry fee is EC$ 20 – ladies free.

At The Majestic Isle Casino, four incredible nights of entertainment is lineup including Beverage Sampling Night  on Thursday and Martini Night on Monday plus live music with Harbour Trio on Friday evening and full disco house with DJ Anya on Saturday.

And so begins the christmas songs and carols. Island Academy kicks start the Christmas season with an evening of caroling on the lawn of Antigua Yacht Club this Thursday 5th December.

Not really in the Christmas mood? Have an Asian inspired dinner and dancing affair at The Crow's Nest. Dance in line and enjoy a taste of Asia and wine & vodka specials.

Care for the Trails! On Saturday, December 7th at 7 a.m. Environmental Awareness Group (EAG) will host a morning of trail maintenance  along Christian Valley Birding Trail. All are welcome!

Meanwhile, proceeds from the Horticultural Society’s annual Tea Party will help fund our public gardens. Venue is one of the best kept public gardens, the lawn of Government House on December 7th from 4-6pm.

Another elegant evening of spirited 'Christmas Carols' is promised outside the Jolly Harbour Commercial Centre from Sanctuary Choir. Bring the whole family for an evening of carols and help spread the magic of the festive season.

They say it’s better to give than to receive but with Rotary Club of Antigua Sundown’s Signature Fete you can do both. The all inclusive fete features Tian Winter and the Ionic Band with background entertainment from Selecta J and Chicki HiFi. The venue is Sand Piper Hotel on December 7th from 9pm – 4 am and proceeds go towards their worthy autistic charity.

The Antigua Hash House Harriers will be hashing again for the 599th time.

For a musical background of masterful steel band music, have Sunday Lunch this and every Sunday for the month of December at Harmony Hall. Enjoy Lacu Samuel and Vernie suitably exotic and energetic set of tunes in the lush gardens of Brown’s Bay that will prove to be the perfect soundtrack to your day.

Come sell, come buy; and do a little good this Christmas.

If heading to Jolly Harbour wasn't part of your three day weekend, an all-you-can-eat Lobster feast at Al Porto will bring you up to speed. Featuring lobsters plucked right out of the sea, the shell delicacy will be accompanied by an array of sides at EC$ 90 per person. Regular menu also available.
