BREAST CANCER AWARENESS ACTIVITIES CONTINUE Wednesday 23rd October 2013
The last few events to promote Breast Cancer Awareness are taking place this week and into the weekend and we have all the information you need to get involved and help raise awareness and funds for great causes.
Thursday is the Party in Pink Zumbathon, set for 5:15 pm – 7:15 pm at the Mount St John’s Medical Centre. Sign up and come out to make every move count, while having fun and getting fit for a great cause. Donation is EC$30 for the event.
The highlight event, the Gala Dinner and Charity Fashion Show, is slated for Friday 25th October at Sugar Ridge Hotel and will honor breast cancer survivors. The evening features a special three-course dinner at 7:00 pm for tables of 6 or 8, followed by a fashion show with the Aveda Concept Spa Stylists and Miranda Designs, Fashions and Jewellery, with live music by Rico and the 4-Play Band. Tickets for dinner and the fashion show are EC$150 and for the fashion show only at 9:00 pm, tickets are EC$35. Profits from the evening will be donated to the Oncology Unit at the Mount St John’s Medical Centre so come out, indulge in great food and fashion while raising awareness and funds for a great cause.
JCI Antigua presents a Cancer “Awareness through Education” Symposium this Saturday at the Multi-Purpose Centre from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Come out to learn about cancer treatment, prevention and recovery and the conventional and holistic approach, presented by a number of knowledgeable doctors.
The activities close off with the 5K Run/Walk dubbed “One for the girls” on Sunday 27th October, starting at 4:00 pm at the Rising Sun Grounds. Sign up costs EC$40 and includes a T-Shirt, food, water and entertainment and proceeds aid Breast Friends.
