Big Banana hosts Therapy Thursday every 2nd and last Thursday of the month, so this week it’s on, as they offer cocktail and beer bucket specials, new menu offerings like Jerk Chicken Pizza, Pizza Chips and dip and more. When dining or just relaxing, enjoy entertainment by Stonewall Hifi and kick back for week-day therapy Big Banana style. You can also take advantage of Bogo Tuesdays each week, with a free pizza with a large pizza purchase.
It’s Jazz on the Quay every Thursday night at Heavenly Java 2 Go featuring the Kuttin Eddge Band with Lacu Samuel alongside on the pan. The band starts up at 8:30 pm onward so be there early to enjoy drinks, dancing and relaxing under the stars.
Abracadabra’s brief summer opening is coming to an end and in true Abras style, they are closing off with a bang. On Friday it’s Fuzion Tomorrowland featuring the #1 House DJ out of Jamaica DJ Kuumba, alongside DJ Anya from Russia, DJ B Badd from New York, and local spinners DJ Sporty, Elements, Tweeta, Quixx and Wardadli Souljahs. Saturday is their final night and is set for the Virgo Bash, with DJs Sporty, EZP, Kenny D Ibis and Wardadli Souljahs on the DJ lineup, alogn with free jello shots and a prize for the sexiest virgo lady.
Don’t forget that Abracadabra is not just about fantastic nightlife and parties, but they serve up impeccable dishes at the hands of their chef Saggie, who will continue dinner service each evening until Saturday. Be sure to reserve a table and indulge in delicious traditional Italian cuisine before they close until November.
Millers by the Sea now hosts Folic: After Work Adult Lime each Friday evening from 4:00 pm through to 10:00 pm, giving crazy drink specials for the first two hours at EC$2 per drink and EC$5 for beers. After 6:00 pm, drinks are EC$5 and they are serving up Seafood, meat and surf and turf platters alongside their regular menu, all while DJ Shastri plays the music you love in the background. They also offer a weekly Sunday Brunch as well with a full buffet for EC$30 only.
Celebrate the reopening of Reservoir Range as they host their Summer Party this Sunday, inviting all out to take part in their 25 Clay Pigeon Shooting Competition with new targets and varying difficulty, plus a free chance at Cross-Bow shooting for all those that enter the shooting competition. For those that are unsure about shooting, come out for the party at the Clubhouse Bar and enjoy specials on Heineken Beers, along with a grill fired up for a fantastic BBQ.
This Sunday is The Bay Restaurant’s final BBQ Sunday until October 6th, as they take a break and close for a month. Join them before they close for succulent BBQ dishes by Chef Mitchell Husbands from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm on Sunday or for their happy hour, which is from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm daily, with cocktails and beer for just EC$5 each.
Unwind as you watch a stunning sunset over Dickenson Bay from Trade Winds Hotel, as they offer their daily happy hour, giving guests 40% off all drinks between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm each evening.
Cloggy's also has a daily happy hour, serving up mixed drinks and beers for EC$6 between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm on their open days, which are Wednesdays through Sundays for now.
Dine at Hemingway’s Caribbean Café before they close on September 14th and enjoy a tasty breakfast, lunch or dinner while overlooking the busy streets of St John’s. They will reopen after their break on October 14th.
SPORT SHORTS
Sugar Club has organized another hike to Boggy Peak this Saturday, starting off at Sugar Club and ending in Christian Valley, where you will be transported back to the hotel. The hike costs EC$20 and you can treat yourself to breakfast back at Sugar Club, or lounge by the pool after.
This Saturday’s Hash starts off at the Old Sugar Mill on Cedar Mills Road from 4:00 pm, exploring a more northern spot on the island this week.

The Jolly Harbour Marina & Boatyard have put out a notice informing of dredging now happening in the narrowest part of the Jolly Harbour Channel. Boat captains are urged to keep south of the dredging barge while going through the channel. Read the details here.
Barbuda Express has halted ferry service between Antigua and Barbuda for the period of September 2nd to 16th and will resume operations from Tuesday 16th, departing from their new pier at the bottom of Long and High Streets.
