TANYA EVANSON WORKSHOP & PERFORMANCE
Wednesday 6th March 2013

Antiguan-Canadian visiting Poet and Spoken Word Artist Tanya Evanson is an experienced arts educator, and will be facilitating a workshop entitled “Writing Under the Influence” on Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Best of Books on Lower St. Mary's Street , St. John’s Antigua.

This poetry and performance workshop will explore the intoxication that comes from drinking the wine of a different tavern. Participants will fall under the spell of mystic poetry, create spontaneous work, get tips on the power of creative presentation and perform in a non-competitive “Alphabet SLAM” where everybody wins. Requirements: Passion, Patience, Paper and Pencil. Donations welcomed.

Tanya will be leaving for Vancouver later this month, and as a goodbye gift to the local spoken word fraternity, will be performing from her third album “Language for Gods” with local musical guests Hani Mikael Hechme and Javan Murdoch at Expressions: Poetry in the Pub at Heavenly Java 2 Go, located on the boardwalk of Redcliffe Quay, on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 8pm.
Expressions is hosted by August Rush Production. Poets, spoken word artists, writers, singers, musicians and dancers are welcomed to take the stage and showcase their creativity. Persons interested in performing can sign-up in advance by emailing augustrush.antigua@gmail.com or calling 783-4120 or 779-6634.

Poetry In The Pub takes place on the second and fourth Tuesdays in the month, and runs until June 2013.
