Antigua Barracuda FC officially launched their 2011 United Soccer League (USL) season with a Press Conference at the Sticky Wicket. Chairman Gordon Derrick, Chief Executive Officer Bo Matthews and Team Manager Fernando Abraham represented the USL franchise, while leading insurance company, Caribbean Alliance Insurance was represented by Mr Greg Manners.
“We are excited about being a part of the USL and the many opportunities it provides our Players, Staff and Partners. Further it will position Antigua and Barbuda as a prime sports tourism destination, something we are keen to do.” stated Gordon ‘Banks’ Derrick; Chairman, Antigua Barracuda FC.
Antigua Barracuda FC will kick off their season with their first home game on 17 April at 7.00 PM, when Los Angeles Blues visit the Sticky Wicket. This will be the start of twelve home and away matches which will include journeys to Puerto Rico, Los Angeles and Rochester, New York.
CEO Bo Matthews said, “The entertainment package is fantastic value for money. Our Fish Tank; the ultimate party zone, will feature the best of Antigua and Barbuda entertainment and with packages for families, seniors, juniors and club members, we are looking forward to the support of the whole country”.
On show at the launch were the exotic and beautiful ladies of the Antigua Barracuda FC Cheerleaders who treated the audience to a taste of their energetic dancing skills which will be displayed on match days.
Antigua Barracuda FC in the coming days will be making further announcements regarding the Head Coach and its roster of players as well as the launch of its new web site.
Antigua Barracuda FC is the only USL franchise outside the United States and its territories.
