CLASSICS AND WHAT’S ON Thursday 20th April 2023
You might think it’s all about the boats this week as the 36th Antigua Classics Regatta ships line English Harbour and set off to race the Antiguan waters. This year, there are younger boats joining the new “modern classics” class. Racing starts with the single-handed race on 20th April culminating in the delightful gig racing and cream teas at The Pillars on 24th April. The April Youth Sailing Programme starts at Antigua Yacht Club for spitting skippers and sailors.
Off the water, Antigua Art Festival continues at venues on the island; don’t miss Rhythm & Vibes at Ana’s on the Beach on 21st April. With a camera in both events, an exhibition of photographs from 23 years of Classics by renowned photographer Ed Gifford will be at the National Sailing Academy on Dockyard Drive all week; an event not to be missed.
There's one for the golfers this week, with the Kiwanis Golf tournament at Cedar Valley. Get up early for the Rotary Club special Walk for Autism at 04.45 on Saturday to mark Friday’s Autism Awareness Day.
Everyone looks forward to the annual “Playing to Inspire” with the wonderful Kanneh-Masons and they are back along with Antigua’s talented choirs and youth orchestra on 21st April.
As always, enjoy music and food from the many restaurants Antigua has to offer, many of whom will be showcasing at Antigua’s inaugural Restaurant Week in May.
So many things to do, and so little time; make the most of all the Island has to offer. It's all in the Newsletter here.
