RORC CARIBBEAN 600 BUZZ & WHAT’S ON Thursday 16th February 2023
It’s all at sea this week with the RORC Caribbean 600 setting off on Monday. Prepare to greet the multi-hills within 36 hours, while we wait for the monohulls to take a slightly more relaxed race. This year has seen the inaugural RORC Caribbean series, with exciting racing inshore and coastal whetting the appetite for the main event.
Don’t forget to look the part with RORC merchandise available at the AYC. Make a note, though, the AYC car park will be closed to vehicles throughout the race.
If you want to be on the water but not racing 600 miles around the Caribbean, the Kayak Club is at the NSA on Mondays for a more gentle marine experience.
Need an excuse to dress up? Get your best red dress ready - ladies too - hitch up your skirts and run with the Hash House Harriers Red Dress Run on the 18th. You can Run for Love for the Dragonfly Foundation too, this week,a charity that supports persons with autism and related conditions. You will be fit by the end of this week!
There’s one for food connoisseurs at the Cork and Basket where you can sample the best Hereford Beef and the best complementary wines - you need to have booked for this one. Cork and Basket has so many delicacies a visit is necessary at any time.
Amidst all the fun, you can help others. Find out what has been happening at Dogs and Cats recently, and support the drive for safe hurricane shelters for them.
