BEAUTIFUL BEACHES — BLISS Friday 22nd June 2018
This photo was taken from The Shed at Sugar Ridge Resort (BLISS location), overlooking the Argorn fireball and Carmichael's.
We know that for many people, visions of swathes of Sargassum colonising beaches right across the Caribbean are sending out alarm bells for those who have holidays booked across the region and especially in Antigua, but we are here to tell you don’t panic!
While not enough is known about this relatively new natural phenomenon, enough is known to make the statement that it is a man-made issue, and quite possibly the latest in no doubt many environmental impacts suffered due to man's lack of awareness, or care of its impact on the natural world.
Here in Antigua we are enormously lucky to boast 365 beaches, one for each day of the year and so even though some of our East Coast beaches are suffering from an influx of weed, the majority of beaches are beautifully clear as ever.
And what better place to check this out from? The top of the hill on the West Coast of Antigua. The Shed and Carmichael’s in the Sugar Ridge Resort will be home to a wonderful event, BliSS, taking place this coming Sunday from 4pm. The oceans will be beautifully turquoise and the sunset stunning. As the light fades, the newly commissioned and just installed Aragorn fireball will be lit on the hill for the first time.
The evening will be an eclectic mix of three stages and fifteen performances of music, dance, spoken word, live art, body painting, fire eating and drumming.
A festival-type atmosphere to awaken all of your senses, and it's definitely an event not to miss!
