YOUTH AFFAIRS COMPLETES SUCCESSFUL WORKSHOP Friday 31st March 2017
The Department of Youth Affairs recently completed a successful training of 50 youth leaders in its annual Youth Leadership Training Workshop, under the theme “Building Leadership Capacity for Youth Group’s Sustainability”.
The workshop, which ran from February 27th – March 27th at the Department Headquarters, was aimed at increasing the capacity and ability of youth leaders and to strengthen the institutional capacity of the groups that they lead to better serve their communities.
The youth leaders came from a number of different organizations, including church groups, sports clubs, youth service organisations, school groups, and other youth organisations.
According to Mr. Stephen Samuels, the Programme Coordinator, “It was amazing to see how the participants shared information and exchanged ideas while demonstrating leadership qualities”.
The workshop, which is in its 11th edition, featured presenters such as Mitchell Hill, Colvis St. Romain, and Kim Burdon on topics such as Communication, Programme Planning, and The Business of Meetings.
