NATIONAL YOUTH WEEK 2015 Thursday 24th September 2015
The Department of Youth Affairs in collaboration with the National Youth Ambassador Corps wish to formally invite you to participate in the celebration of National Youth Week 2015 under the theme “Imagination. Innovation. Realisation”. National Youth Week will be held from September 24 to October 3, 2015.
Thursday 24th September, 2015: Opening of National Youth Week 2015
Participants will march with placards detailing youth issues. The march will start from the Multipurpose Cultural & Exhibition Centre to YMCA Sports Complex. There, a brief ceremony will be held. The march will gather from 2:00 pm and will move off at 3:00 pm.
Friday 25th September, 2015: National Volunteer Day
On this day, young people are encourage to get involved in a volunteer activity and participants are urged to post their pictures of them volunteering to the Youth Affairs social media pages.
Saturday, 26th September, 2015: National Youth Fitness Jam
The National Youth Fitness Jam will commence with a registration process at 5:00 am the House of Culture. Persons are encouraged to wear festive colours in the celebration of youth. The associated cost is EC$15 which covers breakfast and water.
The route for the fitness jam is as follows:
Starting at the House of Culture then left on to Queen Elizabeth Highway then right on to Factory road then left on to Hawkins Drive then left on to Old Parham Road then left on to Coronation Road then left on to Factory Road then right on to Parliament Drive ending at House of Culture.
Sunday 27th, September, 2015: Church Service at the St. John’s Pentecostal Church.
Monday 28th, September, 2015: Youth Media day
Tuesday 29th, September 2015: Work Experience Day
Wednesday, 30th September, 2015: Youth Expo
Saturday, 3rd October: Antigua's Youth Got Talent
