ROYAL BVI YACHT CLUB TO HOST OPTIMIST RACE CLINIC
Monday 27th July 2015

The Royal BVI Yacht Club (RBVIYC) has announced an Optimist Race Clinic to take place from 18-22 August 2015. Open to sailors from around the region, the clinic will be hosted by world class Optimist coach Martin Borrallo.

Borrallo is currently coaching the Uruguay National optimist team and will take a break to come to the Tortola to train regional youths. Judy Haycraft from RBVIYC says “We have worked with Martin on several occasions and he is a very talented coach and previously an accomplished optimist sailor. “

The cost of the clinic is US $300 for the 5 days and accommodation will be provided at host families in Tortola. The clinic is designed to cater for competitive sailors who want to develop further. It is also an opportunity for  regional optimist sailors to get together and race against each other in different conditions.

Hull rental is included – sailors will need to bring spars and their sails and space is limited to a maximum of 12 sailors.

To apply for one of the places please email hayjude05@hotmail.com.
