Globe 5.80 Transat: Race Restart from Lanzarote to Antigua

The Globe 5.80 Transat race restarts from Lanzarote on January 11, 2025, at 14:00 local time. After departing from Lagos, boats are now preparing for the 3,000 nautical mile journey to Antigua.

Eligibility Requirements
Skippers must be at least 18 years old or have parental consent. Before applying, they must have purchased Globe 5.80 plans and logged 500 miles of ocean sailing on any boat.

Pre-Race Requirements
Competitors must have:

• 1,500 miles of ocean sailing experience
• Completed a solo, non-stop 500-mile voyage in the Globe 5.80 under windvane
• Survival training and a medical examination
• $2 million in third-party insurance
• Liability forms and compulsory briefings

Race Entry Fee: €1,200

As the countdown to the race begins, excitement is building for this challenging Atlantic crossing. The race promises to be a thrilling test of skill and endurance for all participants.
