C-MAP ATLANTIC DASH ARRIVAL Monday 26th February 2024
Three teams set off to row 3,200 miles from Lanzarote in the Canary Islands to Antigua in this year's C-MAP Atlantic Dash. Sadly, Destiny’s Tide had to turn back, leaving the Brightsides and Atlantic Rocks to forge the trail.
The Brightsides arrived after 52 days 18 hours and 53 minutes at sea to a rapturous welcome into Jolly Harbour, to be greeted by friends and family and supporters with ABSAR in support.
With 300 miles still to go, everyone waits for Atlantic Rocks to make a similarly dramatic entrance into the harbour.
They predict a Tuesday arrival for if conditions continue the way they are, so the guys are now going through their ‘lasts’ on the boat… starting with the last Wednesday. It’s a little too soon to give an accurate time of day but let's hope.
It’s been cloudy out there for a few days so they are running on minimal power and being conservative about what they are using. Today the forecast is sunny so that will give their batteries a boost
The Atlantic Dash is an annual ocean rowing event that sees entrantsrowing 3200 miles across the Atlantic Ocean.
