TIGER TYSON AT THE KITEBOARD PAN AMERICAN TRIALS Wednesday 3rd April 2019
Though Tiger has already qualified Antigua & Barbuda in Kitefoiling for the 2019 Pan American Games in Peru in August, he excelled at another qualifying event recently, the Kiteboard Pan American Trials in San Diego over 29th March – 1st April. Ending in 6th place, as the only youth competitor while racing against some of the top 15 kiteboarders in the world, Tiger’s secured another impressive run on the international scene. From Michael Tyson: “He was actually in lead in a couple of races due to his upwind strategy and approaching second to the finish line but crashed after hitting seaweed in both circumstances! Lesson learnt there! So he has potential which is great to know. Other (competitors) are in top 15 in the world and all on Mike’s Lab foils which are the best foils, so Tiger is hoping to get one of those.” Tiger has advanced thus-far in kitefoiling with no pro-coaching, but is set for pro-training in hydrofoil this month.
In efforts to gain sponsors and provide funds for equipment, coaching, and flights, branded shirts, caps, and other merchandise are in the works. If you are interested in sponsoring Tiger as he represents Antigua & Barbuda, contact Tiger on tiger.tyson@me.com.
