ABBA NAMES FINAL SQUAD FOR LIBA TOURNAMENT Wednesday 16th August 2017
Wednesday 16th August 2017 (St. John’s, Antigua) After months of intense preparation for the 2017 U20 Male Leeward Islands Basketball Association (LIBA) Tournament, the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) is pleased to announce the final squad due to participate in the upcoming competition.
Selected were Ahmani Browne, Alexis Jackson, Danny Perez, De-lornje Jules, Ezekiel Francois, Javon Simon, Judah Ferris, Kellony Tonge, Lincoln Weekes, Michael Florian, Mico Scotland, and Tavarus Benta.
This year’s youth competition will feature five neighbouring countries, namely, Anguilla, Montserrat, St. Kitts, St. Maarten, Nevis, and host country, Antigua.
The competition commences on Wednesday 23rd and culminates on Sunday, 27th August 2017.
On the opening day, the first game, featuring Anguilla vs St. Maarten, will be played at 3:00 pm to facilitate an Opening Ceremony slated for 5:00 pm.
Subsequently, two games, St. Kitts vs Montserrat, and Antigua vs Nevis, will be played at 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm respectively.
Thereafter, three games will be played daily, with matchups at 4:00 pm, 6:00 pm, and 8:00 pm at the JSC Sports Complex.
ABBA extends special commendations to the parents and guardians, the team’s coaching and management staff, well-wishers, and all other stakeholders for their invaluable contribution and support in preparing the team over the last few months.
