WINDIES A TEAM LOOKS AHEAD TO ODIS FOLLOWING 3-0 TEST WIN Friday 2nd March 2018
Article taken from Windies Cricket - St John’s, ANTIGUA – Less than two days after the exciting end to the Super50 Cup Final and the Super50 Cricket Festival (last Saturday), cricket returned to Antigua and Barbuda on Monday (February 26). Windies A completed a 3-0 series win over the England Lions.
Well, there will be more cricket. For three days, March 6, 9 and 11, the same teams will do battle in the 50-overs format.
Having just completed a comprehensive whitewash in the 4-Day format, the team hopes to carry their form into the 50-overs.
With great performances from young players at the Super50 Cup and 4-Day WINDIES A games so fresh in the minds of the fans, Commercial Director, Dominic Warne, is appealing to fans “to come out and support the next generation of WINDIES players at the 3-game 50-over ODI series next week and build up the legendary West Indies atmosphere.
“Not only will the series feature players trying to break into both the elite WINDIES and England teams, but it will also feature two local Leeward Islanders, Jahmar Hamilton and Rakheem Cornwall, to capture the pride and support of local fans.
Warne noted that “we want to make this series as accessible as possible, so the ticket prices are an affordable EC$15, plus we’ll have a wide range of food items along with music at the venue for the entire family.”
The day/night matches will be at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, Antigua, starting at 2pm each day.
