ANTIGUA CYCLING'S FIRST 5 NATIONAL COMMISSAIRES Friday 6th November 2020
Dear members and stakeholders,
As the Antigua and Barbuda Cycling Federation continues to seek ways to turn around the sport of cycling in the twin island state, we at the executive level are determined to raise the human resource capacity, to deliver a better experience in the sport as never before seen here. With that in mind, a group of five members of our federation was chosen to participate in an online National Commissaires Seminar. This course which started in July and ran for approximately two months was facilitated by UCI International Road Commissaire Elaine Sirydakis of Brazil and was funded by the Pan American Cycling Confederation (COPACI) for the Caribbean Cycling Federation (CCF).
The Antigua and Barbuda Cycling Federation is pleased to announce that all five of its members who took part in the course have been successful and have now joined the ranks of National Commissaires worldwide. These individuals are now certified to adjudicate in Road cycling races in their home country and to act as assistant commissaires in International races in their own country.
The names of our newly and first ever certified commissaires are:
George Baptiste
Cliff Williams
Cassandra Murray
Brian Lyn
Derrick Sutherland
I would like to congratulate our new commissaires on their achievement and trust that the knowledge garnered from such a course will not stay with them, but that they act as a conduit to implement in our operations and also as a conduit to facilitate knowledge transfer.
St. Clair Williams
President
