ABCF NEW EXECUTIVE & OPENING SEASON RACE Monday 25th March 2019

The Antigua and Barbuda Cycling federation held its Annual General Elective Assembly on Wednesday 13th March 2019, held at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium.
The elective assembly saw a new President to manage the affairs of Cycling for the next year. Mr. St. Clair Williams of Newfield Village was elected President with his six-member slate. George Baptiste and Derrick Sutherland retained their positions as 1st and 2nd Vice President respectively. Former President, Cliff Williams was elected to the position of Secretary while Ms. Cassandra Murray-Watkins elected to the position of Assistant Secretary. Kelvin Isaac and Cleofoster Harris elected as Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer respectively.
Meanwhile, the new executives have scheduled the opening of the 2019 Cycling. The season will open on 31st March with a 20-lap Opening Season Circuit Race which will take place at Pan Am Base Circuit, starting at 3pm. The race is expected to host the island’s best and active riders across all categories. The Elite, Masters and Juniors will go for 20 laps while Sports Class (Beginners) and Female will go for 10 laps.
The Opening Season Circuit Race will be the first of 12 races for the 2019 race season. The other races to include Road and Time Trial races and some the popular events as the Robert Peters Race sponsored by Lucozade, The Top Ranking National Championships, The Subway 3 stage Race, The AWU Invitational Race, Billy’s Food Mart Race and an Interschool invitational Race to name a few. The ABCF is appealing to all motorist to be cautious as we share the road and am asking all fans and spectators to give their support.
