CANCELLATION OF THE CARIBBEAN DINGHY CHAMPIONSHIPS Tuesday 9th September 2014
The Caribbean Sailing Association (‘CSA’) regrets that it has had to cancel the Caribbean Dinghy Championships (‘CDC’) that were scheduled to be held from the 14th to 16th of November. The dates conflict with the Central American and Caribbean Games (‘CAC Games’) which will be held from the 15th to 30th of November at which a number of Caribbean countries will be participating. Consideration was given to rescheduling the CDC to dates both before and after the original dates but there are significant conflicts with other previously scheduled events and a suitable date cannot be found for this year. The CSA thanks the countries that had expressed an interest in participating in this year’s event and apologises for any disappointment. It is pleased, however, that member countries are concentrating their efforts at this time on participating in the CAC Games which occur only every four years.
The CSA will begin planning for the 2015 CDC in the near future. If any member would like to bid to host the event in 2015, please review the CDC Form Guide and contact the CSA at secretariat@caribbean-sailing.com to express your interest.
