MARLOW ONE-DESIGN CHAMPIONSHIPS COMING UP IN ST. MAARTEN

NOTICE OF RACE

1 RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
1.2 This Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions.

2 ADVERTISING
2.1 Boats will display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.

3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 The regatta will be sailed in Lagoon Sailboat Rentals (LSR) one-design fleet of identical Sun Fast 20 boats
3.2 Each team must consist of not less than 3 people and not more than 4 people
3.3 Each team is required to wear co-ordinated coloured shirts or outfits, the shirts should be of distinct colours. The regatta will not provide for these shirts or outfits
3.4 Eligible teams can enter by emailing their entry information to director@bigboatseries.com. This email should state: Name of skipper, team name, country and team colour.
3.5 The regatta is open to 15 teams.

4 FEES
4.1 The boat rental/entry fee for the regatta is US $250 per team. A US $200 damage deposit must be paid at registration

5 REGATTA SAILING FORMAT
5.1 The regatta will either be sailed in a One fleet rotation of boats or in a Two-pool format, which will result in a final of a Gold and Silver fleet.   This will be decided by the Organising Authority.

6 SCHEDULE
6.1 Registration and the skippers briefing will be on Friday June 15th at 6pm at the St.Maarten Yacht Club.   Entrants at this time will be required to sign documents that exclude liabilities for Lagoon Sailboat Rental N.V and the St.Maarten Yacht Club. 
6.2 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race on Saturday June 16th will not be before 8:50am
6.3 Prize giving will be held after racing on Sunday June 17th, at the St.Maarten Yacht

7 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
7.1 The sailing instructions will be available at registration

8 VENUE
8.1 The racing will take place on the Simpson Bay Lagoon

9 THE COURSES
9.1 The courses to be sailed will be Windward / Leeward courses with a gate. If a different course will be sailed then this will be made available at registration.

10 PENALTY SYSTEM
10.1 Rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty.

11 PRIZES
11.1 Prizes will be given as follows: 1st, 2nd & 3rd 

12 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
12.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
