There are numerous benefits to joining the Royal BVI Yacht Club. In 2010 we have re-invigorated the club’s activities, including:
A New and revitalized Youth sailing programme
We have moved youth sailing to Nanny Cay Marina, resulting in a renewed interest from children in the BVI in sailing
An exciting sailing calendar for 2011
There is more emphasis on cruising and fun races, as well as continued serious racing. We have several new additions to the Calendar, including races/cruises to Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke, and our new flagship Trafalgar Regatta in October. We are also introducing the BVI National Sailing League (BVI NSL), with a trophy and prizes for the NSL champions at the end of the year. You can download our 2011 calendar from http://www.royalbviyc.org/adultfamilysailing/sailingeventsnotices.html.
Continued off-the-water fun events
For example, we recently welcomed renowned sailor Ken Read to the for a presentation and silent auction. Members enjoy 20% discounts on food and beverage at the Yacht Club, as well as discounts with certain BVI companies and retailers. Members also receive discounts on race entry fees.
An increased reciprocal yacht club list
We know this is of particular interest to our overseas members. Royal BVI Yacht Club members enjoy visiting rights at numerous reciprocal clubs around the world.
A volunteer membership credit scheme
We have introduced a scheme to allow members to reduce the cost of membership through their volunteer activities.
In addition to our existing membership tiers, and as a result of much feedback and discussion, the yacht club has now introduced a new Temporary membership category. Potential new members or island visitors may receive Temporary Membership and enjoy all the club rights and privileges (other than voting) for a period of up to 2 months. The fee is $50 for a single or $90 for a family temporary membership.
Payment for overseas membership can be made by Check mailed to the Royal BVI Yacht Club, by e-mail with your credit card number and expiration date or by telephone with your credit details.
We do hope you will join / re-join the Royal BVI Yacht Club – The Home of Sailing in the Sailing Capital of the World!
Kind regards
