CSA ANNUAL CONFERENCE CONFIRMED FOR OCTOBER
Monday 18th September 2017

The Caribbean Sailing Association (CSA) confirms that the CSA Annual Conference held in October each year will take place in Antigua as scheduled from October 13th -15th, 2017.

The Annual Conference is a unique opportunity for people to gather to share ideas and challenges for their events and for advancing sailing programs in the region from grassroots through to superyacht. Attendees come away feeling super charged and inspired just in time for the beginning of the CSA’s international yacht racing season.

Given the devastation in some islands caused by Hurricane Irma, the CSA Board agrees it is more important than ever this year to get members together from across the region to formalise how we will work together to promote the region and encourage international visitors to continue to support the regattas which are key to local economies.  The agenda will also focus on how we can help the region’s grassroots sailing programs get back on track as quickly as possible.

Also featured on the agenda will be the usual areas of interest including sponsorship, the CSA Rating Rule, marketing and race management with an updated focus on sailing development.

The CSA will offer financial support for expenses to encourage members from affected islands to attend the Conference.  Anyone seeking assistance is asked to contact: news@caribbean-sailing.com.

CSA President Kathy Lammers said: ‘We know some people from the affected islands may not be able to make the financial commitment to come to the Conference. But we know the Conference has huge value for many and therefore feel it’s appropriate to offer some assistance to help enable them to attend.’

The CSA Annual General Meeting will be held as part of the Annual Conference and more information including the Notice of AGM and related documents will be available next week.  Any members interested in getting more involved on CSA Committees or the Board of Directors are asked to contact: president@caribbean-sailing.com.

If you have not yet registered for the Conference you can do so here: http://csaconference.org/delegate-registration/.
