SECOND PLACE WORLD DOMINO CHAMPS Tuesday 4th September 2012
Congratulations to the Antigua and Barbuda Domino Association for bringing home second place in the 15th World Council of Domino Federations World Championships which was held in Florida from August 17 0 26, 2012.
The team of 34 which was led by national President, Carol-Ann Skepple; Manager/Treasurer Bickham Moitt; Team Captain and first Vice President Emil Michael, and vice captain and second vice president Renfield Davis retained their 2010 position.
Also included in the team were Vakesha Nathaniel-Joseph, Francine Hector, Desiree Parker,Pamella Roberts, Lucille Mack, Eunetta Williams, Calvin Gordon, Kaid Jarvis, Ava Green (Knight), Isabelle Bruney, Michael Barrow, Michael Roach, Wayne Hallpike, Peter Camille, Elsworth Richards, Natasha Edwards, Lorraine Richardson, Adella John, Stowe Benjamin, Heraldo “Lilo” Richards, Conrad Constant, Kenny Charles, Lionel Parker Jr and Sheldon Gomes, Wavell Jacobs, Durahnie Grant, Rupert Davis and Clayton Thompson. Jo-Ann Barnes and Diana Alexander traveled as referees.
Heraldo Richards a member of the team is presently the reigning National Mind Sportsman of the Year.
Antigua and Barbuda fought hard but could not overcome Team Barbados who retained their first place title in the 2012 World Domino Championships in Florida. Barbados also won the right to host the next Championship Games in 2014.
