MINI-SPORTS FEST SHAPING UP NICELY Friday 25th May 2012
Interest is building for the Min-Sports Fest featuring cricket and football to be staged on Saturday, 26 May, 2012 at the Buckleys School Field from 11am-7pm.
Several teams have already confirmed their participation and registration of $5.00 per player will remain open up to the start of the event which is part of Young Warriors commitment to unearth talent in both disciplines.
A statement from the Club says “this is to identify who among our members are better inclined to play cricket with the view of nurturing talent for national and regional representation.”
The Mini-Sports fest will be an on-going programme and will also include track and field events in the upcoming weeks.
Saturday’s programme will comprise an Under 13 cricket tournament and a football competition involving different age-groups up to seniors
At least four (4) teams – All Saints, Liberta, Young Warriors and Swetes --are expected to take part in the cricket competition.
The football contest will comprise some of the teams who took part in the first two
Mini-Soccer fests.
The West Indies Cricket Board has provided some equipment and prizes for the event cricket fest.
