JACOBS HITS HAT-TRICK IN EMPIRE Tuesday 9th August 2011
Twadedre Jacobs blitzed a hat-trick as Empire came from behind to secure a competitive 3-2 win over host club Young Warriors in the Under 13 Youth Cup of the Warriors Cup 2011 at the Antigua Grammar School field on Monday.
Jacobs, a tall striker with an eye for goal, drew Empire level midday through the first-half when he pushed home past a hesitant goalkeeper.
Damion Stewart, a skilful and nippy winger, had given Young Warriors the lead early in the game when outwitted two defenders before finding the back of the net.
However, Jacobs gave the Milton “Nesta” Byfield-coached side ahead when he ripped a rasping left-footed strike into the roof of the net.
Young Warriors managed to tie the draw at 2-2 when Oraine Gore side-footed home a corner early in the second half.
But Jacobs had the say when he capitalised on a loose to score his third goal in the dying stages.
Empire, who have three points from one match, share the lead in the Under 13 section with Villa Lions. Young Warriors remain with a point from their two matches.
