Two goals each by national youth team players, Tevaughn Harriette and Jared Williams, inspired first-timers Parham to an impressive 7-0 win over Empire in their Under 17 curtain-raiser in the Under 17 Warriors Cup at Pigotts on Sunday.
In the lone game played in the Youth Cup competition, Harriette and Williams were supported by strikes from their national youth teammate, Romario Brathwaite, defender Kenneth Goldburn and goalkeeper Daurick Lockand, who converted a penalty.
Empire, who were competed throughout the match but just could not stop the power and pace of the Parhamities, had a goal disallowed for off-side.
The Gray’s Farm team will hope to bounce back when they take on debutants Swetes on Wednesday when the U17 contest continues at John Hughes before champions Young Warriors oppose Villa Lions at 5:15pm.
