USVI WON THE CARIBBEAN BASKETBALL CONFEDERATION (CBC) CHAMPIONSHIP Wednesday 3rd August 2011
The USVI has won the Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) Championship, defeating the host, Bahamas into second place, in a nail biting 91—89 finish, at the Kendal G.L. Isaacs National Gymnasium, Bahamas, on Friday night, July 29.
Defending Champions, Jamaica settled for the bronze defeating the British Virgin Islands 55– 54.
The three top teams will qualify for the Centrobasket Championships to be held in Mexico, in 2012.
Out of the nine teams tournament, the Antigua/ Barbuda Bulldogs finished a dismal sixth place, after Bermuda rapped up a 86-78 win.
