ABNOC NAMES TEAM FOR INAUGURAL CARIBBEAN GAMES Thursday 23rd June 2022
Antigua and Barbuda National Olympic Committee announced its team for the inaugural Caribbean Games to be held in Guadeloupe, 29th June – 3rd July 2022. Antigua and Barbuda national athletes will compete in three sporting disciplines, namely, Athletics, Swimming, and Cycling.
The team will be headed by Chef de Mission, ABNOC 2nd Vice President, Thomas Greenaway. Mr. Greenaway comes with a wealth of experience and recently completed a successful mission at the recently held Pan Am Junior Games, Columbia.
The 18-member team comprises of the following athletes, officials, and disciplines:
Athletics
- Barak Matthew – 100m
- Taeco O’Garro – Long and triple Jump (ABNOC Flagbearer )
- Sheldon Noble – Long and triple Jump
- Kesswin Anthony – Team Manager
Swimming
- Tivon Benjamin
- Jadon Williaez
- Olivia Fuller
- Arianna John
- Nelson Molina-Fojo – Team Manager
Cycling
- Emmanuel Gayral – Road Race (Individual Time Trial and Mass start Road Race)
- St. Clair Williams – Team Manager
Antigua and Barbuda will be represented in first GIGA’GAMES CANOC ESPORTS SERIES. The eSports competition which will run parallel Caribbean Games and will run from 29th June to 3rd July 2022.
29 Caribbean Olympic Committees will be united around the largest Caribbean multi-sport event through 7 traditional sports disciplines, and for the first time an associated international E-Sport component associated with the GIGA’GAMES CANOC ESPORTS SERIES Guadeloupe 2022, under the aegis of the Giga'Games Federation Guadeloupe of eSport and its international event.
The eAthletes will compete in the following events:
- Glenmoore Fabian (Antigua Grammar School – 16 yrs)
- Dimetre Leitch (Ottos Comprehensive School – 16 yrs)
- Elijah James – Team Manager (Coach – Antigua and Barbuda eSports Club)
Both eAthletes will be competing in the Master Disciplines
- Tekken (Martial Arts versus Sport)
- WindJammers2 (Frisbee Sport)
- Forza Horizon 5 (Car Racing Sport)
- Just Dance Unlimited (Health Sport)
