TEAM ANTIGUA 100-MILE TRAINING ROW Thursday 23rd March 2017
Team Antigua continue their training for the 2017 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge with a recent 100-mile row to St. Maarten. The team left Antigua on 18th March and rowed to St. Maarten; 100 miles in 24 hours!
Photo from Team Antigua: "Half way down to SXM, Nico P. and Eli Fuller row while Scott Potter hand steers and John Watt has his hour of rest. We did that rotation for 26 hours."
The team rowed in the toughest conditions they have experienced to date, under a grueling rotation of two hours on, one hour rest. Sanity4Life generously provided luxury accommodation on arrival to St. Maarten, and towed the boat back to Antigua. “The generous sponsorship supplied by Sanity Yacht Charter was incredible. They supplied luxury accommodation after we arrived and then towed us back upwind to Antigua. This would have cost well over $15,000 & it's this kind of support that will help us be one of the best prepared teams later this year when the TWAC2017 starts.”
