FUNDRAISING CONTINUES FOR TEAM FACING IT Wednesday 24th August 2016
South African Team Facing It with Antigua’s Wayne Johnson continue fundraising efforts as they draw closer to the start date of their 3000nm rowing adventure in the 2016 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.
Team Facing It thanks Mark and Amanda of Flatties Flame Grill who hosted a Fundraising Evening for the team on Friday 19th August which raised EC$3000. EC$1700 has been raised so far from their raffle tickets which are still available for sale for EC$50. Prizes include:
A trip on Cool Cat from Catamaran Sailing Antigua
A Buggy Tour for 4 from Antigua Buggys
EC$250 Carpet treatment from Dino Bruschi
A 60 minute Thai Massage from Shayne Van Beek
Raffle tickets can be bought at Flatties Flame Grill in English Harbour, from Dino at Seagull Inflatables at Cobbs Cross, from Wayne at 786 1311/779 1004 or from Nix at 720 7389.
Debbie Bruschi has also donated various handmade crafts for a silent auction in November. Team Wadadli of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge 2015 has sponsored a signed framed photo which JD Hall will be auctioning off at a later date. The next fundraiser for Team Facing it will be held at the beginning of November 2016.
Team Facing It is extremely grateful to everyone who has assisted with their fundraising so far, including patrons and hosts of their events, those who have donated items for auctions or raffle prizes, and anyone who has made individual donations to the cause.
The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge 2016 starts this year in La Gomera in the Canary Islands on 14th December and ends here in Antigua. Team Facing It will be rowing and raising funds for the Smile Foundation in South Africa and The Friends of the Care Project in Antigua, both very important children’s charities.
