ONLY TWO WEEKS TO GO TO THE START OF THE RORC CARIBBEAN 600 Monday 7th February 2011
The RORC Caribbean 600, a 600-mile race that will begin in Antigua on February 21 and end some hours or days later, has more confirmed entries that ever before.
At the time of going to press, the RORC Caribbean 600 website shows 33 confirmed entries including yachts ranging from the beautiful 155-foot schooner, Windrose of Amsterdam, to the Mumm 36 High Tension, owned by Antigua's Bernie Evan-Wong.
Also confirmed are at least five Class 40s as well as the Carbon 82, Aegir, the Volvo Open 60, Ambersail, the Cookson 50 Jazz, the Swan 60, Fenix, and Rambler 100, the flashy 100-foot maxi.
There are still many expressions of interest and it is expected that the number of entries will climb in the two weeks before the start of the race. This is a spectacular event that takes participants on a 600-mile trek around various of the Leeward Islands, including St. Maarten, St. Barth, Barbuda and Guadeloupe.
