PLENTY MORE BANG FU YU BELLY IN - ‘A TASTE OF 7TH HEAVEN’
Thursday 1st July 2010

Food & Drink TV launches in Antigua & Barbuda on Monday 28th June 2010. This highly anticipated pilot TV series will be airing several times a week for the next 6 months. The newly developed series has been described as the ‘main course’ of the Food & Drink brand. Also a new venture for the brand will be the forthcoming ‘TableManners’ coffee table cookbook. Food & Drink is already well known for its delicious publications the Food & Drink Guides.

The 10 part series has a light-hearted and down to earth approach. It will highlight the wonderful personalities who are often hidden out of sight, behind the scenes and of course expose the culinary delights of the important hospitality industry. It’s a real who’s who and what’s what of everything scrumdiddlyumptious.

Each episode is jam-packed with smiles and new styles. Everyone from vegetarians to carnivores will be offered something sweet and sour, hot and cold, local and international. It will all be vital, but not all ital. Aimed at both a local and an international audience the production has been partly sponsored by various local companies. “There is something for everybody because, as we know, everybody must eat and drink.”

Thank you is extended to the television networks and online media companies, which will broadcast the series. Design Director – Janie Conley says, “please let us inform all media that through this promotion we are really making positive steps towards exposing local talent, nurturing up and coming professionals and really exposing some hidden charms of the industry.” Managing Director - Gulliver Johnson explained, “This is a project of national importance to our local economy as it links the culinary arts, agriculture, tourism and our local economy through a most powerful medium – Video for Internet and TV.  We have a unique opportunity to highlight Antigua and Barbuda in a most flavourable light.”

Ideas for culinary stories, secret recipes and talent are welcomed! Antiguans and Barbudans currently living and cooking abroad are urged to contact us with any recipes or culinary stories. Those training abroad are asked to let us know how studies are going. Chefs and hospitality workers are encouraged to register your interest. info@foodanddrink-caribbean.com
