VIP TICKET WINNERS
Thursday 26th November 2009

Announcing the Winning Contestants from the 2009 Food & Drink Industry Party.

The ‘Rename that Cocktail’ competition has been a great hit and we have more than 100 entries over the last two weeks. So thank you to everyone who took part and we hope that even if you didn’t win that you will pick up a ticket and come to taste the cocktails you renamed.
However, you still have another chance to win 2 V.I.P. tickets, as one of the winning names that we picked was sent in by the Sugar Club Team at Sugar Ridge Hotel and as they will be hard at work on the 5th December they would like to ask the public to beat their winning name.  Which is…

Legend
Because of the mythical symbol on the Remy Martin bottle and also for the fact it is a classic amongst cognacs. We think of legends as great men (& women) of sophistication, the same as most think of Remy Martin.

So you have a few more days to enter a new, new name for the
Side Car

Quin Farara & Company Ltd.

Asha Challenger
New Name: Bacchanal!
Lime and mint always make me think of a Latin Fiesta. This cocktail has the delightful Caribbean flavours of watermelon and ginger beer added to create a taste sensation that is sure to “make a Bacchanal” in your mouth. (For staging fresh watermelon slices can be added to the garnish)

Ingredients
4 Large chunks of fresh watermelon
3 Lime wedges
5 Mint Leaves
15ml (0.5oz) Lime juice
(0.5oz) Cinnamon syrup
(2oz) Appleton Estate V/X Rum
(2oz) Ginger Beer

Add all fruit to shaker and muddle. Add juices, syrup, rum and ice. Shake and strain into a highball glass over cracked ice. Top with ginger beer and crushed ice.
