DOGS AND CATS OF ANTIGUA Thursday 3rd September 2015
In a short space of time, Dogs and Cats of Antigua group now has a core of active members, and, most exciting of all, a property for their future spay neuter clinic.
Arrindell House is situated in Yorks and has been leased for free by Brittany Barnes of the Arrindell family. Members and friends have worked long hours and given materials to bring it up to scratch and it's nearly ready. This facility will be used for holding spay/neutering clinics for owned and stray dogs and cats, and as a temporary kennelling facility while they recover or wait for homes.
Spay/neuter is the only way to make any humane impact on the shocking numbers of animals living neglected on our streets and they are fully committed to this long term project.
All this takes a considerable amount of hard work, pulling together and of course money. A huge thanks to everyone who helped organise, buy, donate and of course bake at their recent Bake Sale which raised a mighty EC$4,000. The next event is the Car Boot Sale at LIAT Cargo Road, Coolidge on Sept 5th.
You can also donate to their Indiegogo account - this account expires on Sept 4th so please hurry.
Annual membership pledges is EC$50 per person.
You can drop off donations at the following places:
National Sailing Academy, Dockyard Drive, English Harbour
Stock Exchange, Friars Hill Road (opp cemetery)
Chippy Fish Chips Dickenson Bay (Wednesdays and Fridays. 3:00 to 9:00 pm)
Silver Chelles, in Redcliffe Quay
