Virgin Holidays has partnered with the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism EDUCATION FOUNDATION (CHTAEF) for nine consecutive years supporting young hospitality & tourism stars across the region.

Virgin Holidays Antigua Country Manager, Karen Budd, explains the impetus for this Special Scholarship Award “Our local Antiguan Team participated in a global Virgin Holidays team event a few years back and in line with our belief that good tourism is sustainable tourism, we raised money to develop a tourism professional in Antigua & Barbuda. Having worked closely with CHTAEF for years, we asked them to join with us so allowing for a valuable full scholarship for 2-years tuition fees while attending the Resort Management Associates Degree course at Antigua & Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute (ABHTI). Virgin Holidays is pleased to support a local institution of excellence and participate in the teaching of a 15-hour Sustainable Tourism / Eco-Smart module within the Resort Management course. The applciation period is from today until 4pm on Carnival Monday, 5 August, 2013. We would ask applicants to submit as early as possible please – thre will be no extensions to the deadline and the winner will be announced on 23 August, 2013.”

CHTAEF invites young Antiguan & Barbudan professionals who are passsionate about sustainability, tourism & hospitality and wishing to study RESORT MANAGEMENT at ABHTI beginning September 2013, to email an application request to antiguavirginscholarship@gmail.com .
