AMSA-AUA HEALTH FAIR Friday 10th February 2012
The American Medical Student Association (AMSA) a student organization at AUA (American University of Antigua) is organizing another Health Fair on March 10, 2012 at the Multipurpose Cultural Center from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The general public is invited to have their vital signs screened free of charge by the students. Persons attending will be greeted by students and subsequently taken to the various stations where their blood pressure, BMI, eyes and glucose level will be checked in sequence. In the end they will be able to interact with doctors and get education of their overall health.
The AMSA –AUA Health Fair Teams have a longstanding working relationship with various professional groups and is happy to announce a special partnership with the Lion’s Club of Antigua and Antigua/Barbuda Glaucoma Support Group in hopes to promote World Glaucoma Week.
The upcoming Health Fair looks forward to having listed associations and groups on board, all sharing information on their special areas of expertise.
Please note that the following organizations are all contributors included in the Saturday, March 10, 2012 Health Fair: Lion’s Club, JCI Antigua, Antigua/Barbuda Glaucoma Support Group, AIDS Secretariat, Gender Affair, Society of Diabetes, Breast Friends, Antigua & Barbuda HIV/AIDS network, Rotary club and the Antigua Sickle Cell Association.
Over 400 persons reportedly visited the Multipurpose Center during last year’s Health Fair in March.
