EXCITING EVENTS IN ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA
Tuesday 14th March 2023

Antigua Classics: a unique and world-famous event.

From 19th to 24th April, the Antigua Yacht Club will be hosting the 34th Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta.

This is an annual gathering of sailors from near and afar to share their passion for racing spectacular classic yachts in Antigua's superb sailing conditions against the backdrop of historic Nelson’s Dockyard. Some of these boats date back to the early 1900s, but continued & meticulous maintenance allows them to compete with other, more recent yachts but which have been built using the original classic designs. The Regatta is particularly popular for the spirit of camaraderie introduced by its founder, with the smaller traditional wooden boats and their larger counterparts enjoying each other’s company irrespective of size or origin.

Antigua Sailing Week, considered one of the Caribbean's most prestigious regattas, is held annually at the end of April and the 54th edition will commence with the Peters & May Round Antigua Race on Saturday, April 29, 2023. Following that will be five days of competitive racing off the rugged south coast of Antigua, wrapping up on Friday, May 5, 2023.

NOT A SAILOR, NOT A PROBLEM

There are many ways for non-sailors to have action during the week of activities. Whether you’re a first-timer visitor or a seasoned veteran, the event offers spectators a variety of activities.
