THE ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA TOURISM AUTHORITY LAUNCHES LOCAL ROMANCE WRITING CONTEST

The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) has launched another element of the recently debuted “Love and Wanderlust” romance campaign in the form of a local writing contest.

The contest calls for talented writers to help tell Antigua and Barbuda’s unique love story that captures the essence of the beautiful islands as a place where love reigns.

The competition is open to Antigua and Barbuda Nationals that are resident in the country and living abroad.

Submissions must be in the form of poetry or prose no more than 1200 words. Only unpublished work is eligible and entrants will be judged by a panel of judges from the private sector and the ABTA. The winner will receive EC$1000 cash prize and the opportunity of a lifetime. Final submissions must be made by April 10 2022 and a winner will be announced on April 15.  

The Antigua and Barbuda “Love and Wanderlust” campaign was officially launched on February 14 in honour of Valentine's Day and depicts the synergy that exists between romantic love and love for travel, both of which ignite a feeling of euphoria and excitement. The goal of the campaign is to show Antigua and Barbuda as a fairytale for lovers and lovers of travel.
